Now TSA plans to let everyone keep shoes on, citing better scanners—yet some airports still rely on magnetometers and boots can fool millimeter-wave units. Aviation-security expert Jeff Price warns that easing the rule for political optics, not risk data, may reopen an old vulnerability.
